"Wraith," Spring 2021

Contributions:
Motion capture performance, mo-cap data cleanup and retarget
This footage shows a run-through of the project with the soldier characters
For motion capture we had to start in T-pose to calibrate the data (and to assert dominance)
"Wraith" was the final project for a motion capture course at Texas A&M. We had the unique opportunity to record our own data at A&M's mo-cap stage, the StarLab. All of the movements seen in the short were performed by myself and my partner Josh McKimmey. I was involved in much of the motion capture cleanup, in order to make it workable for our short. This involved a lot of correction... for example, adjusting hand placement for props, fixing foot sliding, adjusting body positions to match the 3D set, etc. Blake Hennigan translated our data into Unreal Engine and did an awesome job of making it look aesthetically pleasing.
